TestworksConf 2015 İzlenimleri [Part1]

Keytorc olarak geçen hafta Amsterdam’da gerçekleştirilen TestworksConf (www.testworksconf.com) organizasyonundaydık. Konferans formatının yanında hands-on oturumlarla desteklenen etkinlikte Test Otomasyonu ve Performans Testi gibi teknik konulara odaklanıldı. Alan Richardson’ın keynote konuşması “Automate or Die, Real World Survival” ile başlayan etkinlik, Fitness, Protractor, Gatling, Serenity, Cucumber, Robot framework gibi popüler araçlarla ilgili oturumlarla devam etti. Yeni nesil teknolojiler hakkında daha kapsamlı bilgiler edinmenin yanında, Türkiye’deki çalışmalarımızın dünya standartlarında olduğunu gözlemlemek açısından oldukça faydalı bir katılım oldu. Konferanstaki notlarımızda öne çıkan 10 madde ise;

1. Automation is simply identifying paths by slicing the system.
2. Testers need to be technical enough to survive.
3. BDD is not about testing, it is about communication.
4. Cucumber makes easy to communicate between technical and non-technical people.
5. Abstraction is key to success in Test Automation. It does not make it only maintainable, but also readable.
6. Protractor empowers Angular.js Test Automation through dynamic synchronization architecture.
7. Gatling is a Scala based performance testing tool enabling simulation up to 100 thousand sessions on a regular laptop.
8. Selenium Grid is hard to maintain over time. Docker saves the precious time by scaling the infrastructure in need.
9. Serenity BDD advocates “Journey Design Patter” in test automation over the competitor designs.
10. Robot framework is the unsung hero that enables acceptance test-driven development.
